I miss cocoons. When I was a kid in Chicago, every winter we would go on cocoon walks. We would find the cocoons of the giant silk moths, the Polyphemus and Cecropia moths with a wing span of five or six inches. We would find them in bushes and shrubs and trees. We would bring them home and keep them in a large cage on the porch.
