The River Valley School District is happy to be a part of the National School Breakfast Program, a federal meal program which has been operating in public schools since 1966.  It was started as a pilot project and was made permanent in 1975.  Participation has steadily grown over the years.

I took a look at a number of experts in this area: Michael Bechloss, Doris Goodwin, Heather Cox Richardson, PBS Frontline had a piece on this topic and so did CBS Face the Nation, Jon Meacham has authored numerous books, and I scanned lots more articles.

Letter: Food Pantry has new way to get in touch

Reedsburg Area Food Pantry (RAFP), a private 501c3 organization, continues to serve the Reedsburg and Weston and Weston School Districts. Operated totally by volunteers and open every Wednesday from 10:00AM to 12:00AM and again from 4:00 to 6:PM.

We are living in transcending and troubling times. It’s troubling to see how society validates obscenity as acceptable so long as it’s disguised by a foreign language.

I love it whenever there’s a Primary Election.

I do sympathize with municipal staff because it creates more work for them. However, needing Primaries is a great sign that you have both active local civic engagement and passionate people who care about where they live and work.

Beaver gymnasts to host WIAA Sectional Friday at RAHS

Some good vibes are in place now for the Reedsburg Beaver gymnasts as they get ready for WIAA Sectionals in their own gym on Friday night. Reedsburg saw the return of injured gymnasts Bridget McCormick and Audrey Matyas at Saturday’s Badger Conference Meet at Waunakee and as a result, Reedsburg scored 127.4 team points, second best this season.

I always wanted to be a morning person. You know, the kind of people that whistle on the way to the shower and sing while they dress. Unfortunately, I am not that kind of person. I am one whose addiction to the snooze button almost always has me rushing around in the morning, trying not to be late for the day’s events.

CTE Month is also a time to recognize and celebrate the achievements and accomplishments of our CTE partners at the local, state and national level.
