Letter: Badger Cleanup reaches critical juncture

The U.S. Army has quietly submitted a 272-page report to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) which includes recommendations for both adding and eliminating certain groundwater and residential wells from the Army’s current sampling plan in and around the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant.

I want to thank the River Valley School Board for recognizing Judy Ettenhofer and I in this month’s community spotlight at their meeting. We’ve been incredibly lucky to have Judy reporting on the school board and no one deserves recognition more. I join the school board in thanking her for her excellence in everything she does.

Nature and Society: Sad to see trees torn down

It makes me so sad to see all the trees that have been butchered along Highway 23, going south towards Loganville. Whole hillsides have been cleared of trees that would have leafed out in a few weeks, absorbing carbon and giving back oxygen for other living things to breathe.

Letter: Badger Hollow Wind Project wrong for Driftless
