Around the Block

I am a writer by training but not by nature. 
Writing doesn’t necessarily come naturally to me as a process. Writing is a herky-jerky cacophony of noises and explosions and jostling and stumbles. It’s loud and multifarious and inexplicable. It’s irreducible and analog. Writing happens to me. It is not something I do.

Clergy Corner

It is amazing that with only a few clicks on a computer, we can dramatically alter photos. Such capabilities have led us to be a bit more wary. We find ourselves saying, “Unless I see it with my own eyes, how can I believe that it hasn’t been touched up? I’ll believe it when I see it.”

Letter: SAVE Act will make it tougher for women to vote

Do you remember being in a history class in grade school learning about voting, campaigns, etc.?  I remember having to come up with platforms, having a mock election, and then a mock inauguration.  And now?  We have a president who mocks the entire process, and a House of Representatives who mock our right to vote.
