Naturally speaking: White tailed fawns

White-tailed deer fawns are likely to be mostly seen curled in an inconspicuous place, but sometimes not at all hidden. A startled fawn may drop to the ground expecting not to be seen and then reposition to a better hiding location.

The Third Annual Birds, Bees, and Butterflies Event will be held at the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge, N11385 Headquarters Road, Necedah, on Saturday, June 14. This free event goes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside and around the refuge visitor center, rain or shine.

Even though spring is the breeding and nesting season some birds begin displaying in autumn.

The best time for seeing a drake wood duck in colorful plumage is March and April.

Hundreds of farmers and ranchers from across the country convened to discuss issues, talk about group policies and present recognition.
