Eagles’ swimmers off and running

Sauk Prairie girls swimming team began the season with a fourth place finish in the five-team Blue Division at the DeForest Invite last Saturday. Twins just one win from a title

Back in 1966, the price of gas was $0.32 per gallon. Bonanza was the top-rated television show in the country and ‘California Dreamin’” by the Mamas & Papas was the No. 1 song of the year. That also marked the last time Sauk Prairie won the Home Talent League baseball championship.

Eagles’ tennis team starts strong

= Sauk Prairie’s girls tennis team is off to a surprisingly strong start. The Eagles won two of three matches at the La Crosse Invite on Aug. 19. Sauk Prairie defeated La Crosse Logan, 7-0 and downed La Crosse Central, 5-2, before falling to La Crosse Aquinas, 7-0.

After a week of practice and a Saturday scrimmage at Williams Bay, the Wonewoc-Center/Weston Silverwolves co-op football team is ready for game action this week as the regular season begins Friday night at Weston High School against Valley Christian in eight-man high school football action with a 7 p.m. kick-off.

Beaver girls gain experience on golf course

The early days of the season have been a learning experience for most of the members of the Reedsburg Beaver Girls Golf team, which has only two players that entered the season with significant golfing experience, seniors Macy Monte and Ashley Meyer.

Reedsburg had competitions on four consecutive days last week.

Beaver boys soccer kicks off Thursday vs. DeForest

The regular season opener is this Thursday for the Reedsburg Beaver boys soccer program against a strong DeForest team at RAHS.

Coach David Fitzpatrick has an 18-player varsity roster at this time, and nine of them are varsity returnees while the other nine will be newcomers as far as the Reedsburg varsity roster is concerned.
