Clayton Lee of Ithaca/Weston was perhaps the biggest star of the night at the Ridge and Valley Conference Track and Field Meet at North Crawford High School last Thursday. The meet was moved to Thursday due to inclement weather on Tuesday last week but it didn’t appear to slow down Lee who won 3 conference championships on the boys side.

Reedsburg was an easy winner, 6-1, in the final dual match of the high school boys tennis season at Mauston last week after Mauston had re-scheduled the matchup on multiple occasions.

Reedsburg’s All-State shortstop, Kylee Molitor, has made history on the softball diamond for the second week in a row and the Beavers also have now won 6 games in a row.

Reedsburg ends with a .500 record in Badger Small girls soccer this season after a convincing 9-1 rout of Portage/Poynette United on Thursday at RAHS. Reedsburg finishes 3-3-1 in league play and it might be Reedsburg’s best finish in girls soccer in the various realignments and groupings since joining the Badger Conference.

Reedsburg is a conference baseball champion for the third straight year for one of the few times in school history. This year’s version of Beaver Baseball clinched the title with a pair of wins last week over McFarland, the team they shared first place with at the start of the week. All three championships have been outright as well.

Weston looked to be the team in Ridge and Valley Conference Baseball for most of the season and it looked as though they would win a conference title in the sport for the first time since 1997.

Coach Jane Briehl’s River Valley softball squad picked up another win in conference play with some of the best softball of the season in a 5-3 win over Platteville last Tuesday. R-V found themselves down 3-1 in the fourth inning but rallied with a three spot in their half of the fourth before adding an insurance run in the sixth.

River Valley High School has not won a conference title in girls soccer since 2015 but they enter this week on the verge of doing so after last week’s 4-0 win over Richland Center, raising the league mark to 7-0-1 for the Blackhawks in the Southwest Wisconsin Conference.

River Valley has their full lineup in place now as they look to this week’s Southwest Wisconsin Conference Meet and they take some momentum into the week after the best showing of the season last week.
