River Valley boys basketball season begins at home

The River Valley High School varsity boys basketball team returned to competition this past week. They started their season off on Friday night playing the Platteville Hillmen at home with Luke Thatcher returning as head coach. The Hillmen started the game strong, leading the Blackhawks 27-18 at the end of the first half. In the second half of the game River Valley put up 30 points to Platteville’s 16, making the Hawks victorious with a final score of 48-43.  Top scoring Blackhawks for the evening were Preston Hying with 16 points and Zach Gloudeman with 10 points.  This week the boys travel to Richland Center Friday night and Mauston on Saturday.
