River Valley girls basketball team heads into action

  The River Valley High School varsity girls basketball team began its season of competition last Friday night against the Lancaster Flying Arrows in Lancaster.  At the end of the first half the Flying Arrows had the lead 36-17. Despite putting 13 more points on the board the Blackhawks were not able to bring home the win. The final score was 52-30 with Lancaster winning.  Charlotte Ferstl was the top scoring Blackhawk with 11 points. Brent Johnson is the head coach of the team. This Tuesday the girls hosted Blemont. Thursday they will host the Platteville Hillmen. Saturday they will travel to Mauston for an evening game.
