Boys Basketball team suffers loss
The River Valley High School boys varsity basketball team traveled to Richland Center last Friday night to face off against the Hornets.
The Hornets led 37-29 at the half and the Blackhawks could not catch up despite putting another 23 points on the board. The final score of the game was 71-52. Zach Gloudeman and Preston Hying led the Hawks in points in the night with 17 and 18 points each respectively.
“This was a very tough week for us missing six varsity players, one JV player, and two coaches,” said River Valley head coach Luke Thatcher. “I was extremely proud of how the kids competed in the face of adversity. They showed up and worked. I feel like we did some things better than the week before, but we still have a very long way to go.”
This brings the Blackhawks season record to 1-1. Tuesday the boys hosted Sauk Prairie.
