Boys basketball team is being led by coach Luke Thatcher

The River Valley High School boys basketball team will be led for the eighth year in a row by head coach Luke Thatcher. This year he will be assisted by Darby Blakley, Steve Stettler, and Justin Stanek. The Blackhawks lost Josh Maier, Joe Ryan, and Will Jewell to graduation last year. Returning to the team this year are: Will Bailey, Tyler Nachreiner, and Zach Gloudeman to lead the team. When asked about the team’s strengths Thatcher said, “We return several players with the ability shoot and score from both the inside and out.” Anticipated team concerns that Thatcher noted were how the team will play together. “We have some talent returning, but very few reps together,” said Thatcher. “Not having the summer will not help this.” Looking at the entire SWC, Thatcher noted that this year is a very well balanced conference.
