Heights boys upended by Cambridge, New Glarus

Wisconsin Heights’ boys basketball team dropped a pair of games last week. New Glarus defeated the Vanguards, 73-61, on Jan. 19. Cambridge then edged Heights, 73-64, on Jan. 22. Heights fell to 2-5 overall and is 1-3 in the Capitol South Conference. In the Vanguards’ loss to New Glarus, Devin Brabender had a game-high 23 points and De’Shawn Barsness added 16. The Glarner Knights led, 40-32, at halftime and held Heights off in the second half. In Heights’ loss to Cambridge, Brabender again led the way with 16 points and Barsness added 15. Carson Hosking chipped in with seven, while Everett Buol and Derek Adler both had six. Cambridge led, 36-29, at halftime and held off the Vanguards in the second half. • On deck: Heights was at Darlington on Tuesday, then faces Belleville Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at JustAgame Field House in Wisconsin Dells.
