Sauk Prairie’s co-op hockey team receives No. 9 seed

Sauk Prairie’s co-op hockey team received the No. 9 seed in its sectional and traveled to eighth-seeded Sun Prairie Tuesday for a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal. If the Eagles prevailed, they’d travel to top-seeded Madison Edgewood for a regional final Friday at 7 p.m. The sectional semifinals are Feb. 20 and the sectional finals are Feb 23 at 7 p.m. at Sun Prairie Ice Arena. Sauk Prairie — which also consists of players from Mount Horeb, Barneveld, Wisconsin Heights and River Valley — entered postseason play with a 15-9 record following a 7-3 loss to Monroe in its regular season finale. In that contest, Monroe scored six straight goals to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 7-2 lead. Colin Harrington, Connor Grant and Landon Froese all had goals for Sauk Prairie. Brock Hill had two assists, while Garret Mittelsteadt, Samson Begalske and Karsyn Banta each had one assist
