RV/B gymnasts travel to sectionals

The River Valley/ Barneveld (RVB) gymnastics team traveled to Platteville for the division two sectional. RVB took eighth place with 111.375 team points. Dodgeville co-op took first with 136.275 and Reedsburg took second with 135.200 points.  River Valley/ Barneveld head coach Amber Seffrood detailed the day, “Although the team had two that were struggling to recover from illness and one out with injury, everyone did their best to finish the season strong. No one had a PR at the meet, but scores for most were in the normal range for the season, which is great for scores at a tournament.  “Junior Anya Seffrood unfortunately narrowly missed advancing to state with a sixth place finish on both bars and floor. The top five scores on each event advance to state. “Our team this year only had three gymnasts that returned from last year, and we had no seniors. We look forward to next year when the majority of the team will have had one year under their belt. Everyone worked hard and improved more and more each week, and I know next year they will come back strong.” Individual results on the vault: Anya Seffrood placed 12th with a score of 8.400. Kelly Ojibway placed 26th with a score of 8.125. Simone placed 36th with a score of 7.225. Emma Buringa placed 37th with a score of 7.125. Ella Prochaska placed 38th with a score of 7.050.
