Sauk Prairie baseball team has 0-3 week

Sauk Prairie’s baseball team dropped three games last week and fell to 3-9 on the season and 0-6 in the Badger Small Conference. Here’s a recap of the Eagles’ week. • Portage 9, Sauk Prairie 0 — The host Eagles managed just three hits and fell to the Warriors on April 22. Brason Ballweg threw the first 2 2/3 innings and took the loss for Sauk Prairie. • Reedsburg 7, Sauk Prairie 6 — The host Beavers scored six runs in the first inning and held off a late rally by the Eagles on April 23. Boden Frosch led Sauk Prairie’s offense, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, while Marty Hanna had two RBI.  After falling behind, 6-0, Sauk Prairie answered with a single run in the third and five in the fourth. Frosch had a two-run double in the fourth and Hanna had a two-run single. But Reedsburg rallied with a run in the sixth to win it. Reliever Jackson Breunig took the loss for Sauk Prairie. • Reedsburg 19, Sauk Prairie 2 — The visiting Beavers scored 19 runs in their final four at bats and rolled past the Eagles on April 25. Sauk Prairie led, 2-0, but Reedsburg scored four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. Then after the Beavers added a run in the sixth, they erupted for 10 runs in the seventh. Boden Frosch had two hits and an RBI for the Eagles, while Marty Hanna had an RBI. Brason Ballweg took the loss for Sauk Prairie. • On deck: Sauk Prairie was at Portage on Monday and at Baraboo Tuesday. The Eagles then host Baraboo Friday at 5 p.m.
