Season ends for Eagles’ tennis team

Sauk Prairie’s top doubles team of Ayden Wildman and Sebastian Gavol came within one win of reaching the state tournament.
But Wildman and Gavol dropped a 7-5, 6-4 match to Reedsburg’s Simon Wenninger and Jordan Matyas during the Madison Memorial Sectional on May 22.
Gavol and Wildman had advanced through the Madison Memorial Subsectional on May 20 with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Madison East’s Orson Brelsford and Cameron Held.
Sauk Prairie’s other players all lost in the subsectionals in the other flights.
At No. 1 singles, the Eagles’ Boden Bruni dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Middleton’s Ethan Bo. At No. 2 singles, Middleton’s Alexander Bo downed Sauk Prairie’s Charlie Endres, 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 3, Madison West’s Alex Blonien downed the Eagles’ Gavin Krueger, 6-0, 6-0. And at No. 4, Sauk Prairie’s Logan Sorg fell to Madison West’s Ezra Roang, 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 2 doubles, Sauk Prairie’s Adam Kaukl and Levi Shadewald dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Madison West’s Adam Kaukl and Levi Shadewald. And at No. 3 doubles, Madison West’s Grant Shadman and Hunter Shadman defeated the Eagles’ Sean Jager and Wyatt Frey, 6-0, 6-0.
