Twins sweep Dells

Sauk Prairie’s Home Talent League team swept a doubleheader from Wisconsin Dells on Sunday. The Twins defeated the Rivermen, 10-5, in the opener and 7-5 in the nightcap. Sauk Prairie improved to 6-1 overall and leads the Northern Section. Here’s a recap of the Twins’ two games. • Sauk Prairie 10, Wisconsin Dells 5 — Connor Leister went the distance, struck out 12 and earned the win for the Twins. Adam Juran led the offense with two hits, including a bases-clearing triple in the second inning. Mike Jordahl and Ben Lenerz both added two RBI for Sauk Prairie. Dells led, 2-0, heading to the bottom of the second inning when the Twins erupted for five runs and surged to a 5-2 lead. Sauk Prairie added five more runs in the fifth and pushed its lead to 10-2. Lenerz had a two-run triple in the fifth, while Spencer Alisch and Jordahl both had RBI singles in that frame. The Twins finished with 10 hits and stole four bases. • Sauk Prairie 7, Wisconsin Dells 5 — Quinn Baier had two hits and scored four runs to help power the Twins past the Rivermen in the second half of a doubleheader Sunday. Adam Juran added three hits, including a double, as well as two RBI. Sam Koenig also had two RBI, while Chucky Schara had two hits. Sam Koenig gave up just one run in five innings and picked up the win. Koenig struck out three and walked two. Noah Frey and Baier both threw one inning, while Spencer Alisch worked the final two innings and picked up the save. Alisch allowed just one hit and no runs. • On deck: The Twins are at Mazomanie Thursday at 4 p.m., then host Black Earth Sunday at 1 p.m.
