Eagles’ swimmers off to solid start

Sauk Prairie’s girls swimming team had a solid start to the new season with a fifth place finish at the Badger Small Conference Relays Aug. 29 at Stoughton High School. Edgewood won the meet with 204 points, while Monroe/New Glarus was second with 142. McFarland (114), Lodi (112) and Sauk Prairie (90) rounded out the top five. Sauk Prairie’s 200-yard medley relay team of Ava Flanagan, Kaylee Oleson, Kate Himebach and Alyssa Himebach was second. The Eagles’ 500-yard freestyle relay team of Flanagan, Natalie Klein, Alyssa Himebach and Oleson was third. The quartet of Oleson, Addisyn Ranzenberger, Flanagan and Klein was third in the 200-yard breaststroke relay. The foursome of Ranzenberger, Josyln Schultz, Natalie Ballweg and Kate Himebach was fourth. Sauk Prairie’s 200-yard backstroke relay team of Claire Handschke, Schultz, Isis Hayes-Morales and Amelia Kitelinger was fifth. The Eagles’ 200-yard freestyle relay team of Alyssa Himebach, Schultz, Mo Spann and Klein was fifth. The Eagles’ 200-yard butterfly relay team of Spann, Ava Handschke, Claire Handschke and Ballweg finished sixth. Sauk Prairie’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Ava Handschke, Ballweg, Ranzenberger and Kitelinger was seventh. And the Eagles’ 200-yard breaststroke relay team of Schultz, Ranzenberger, Kitelinger and Hayes-Morales was also seventh.
