Three Eagles named all-league

Sauk Prairie’s boys soccer team had a solid season, finishing in third place in the Badger Small Conference and reaching the sectional semifinals. And the Eagles were justly rewarded, placing three players on the all-conference team. Junior midfielder Cris Quezada Godoy and sophomore forward/midfielder Lincoln Ganser were both named first-team all-conference. Junior defender Guadalupe Alcantar Ramirez was named second-team all-league. Quezada Godoy finished second on the team with 13 goals and second with seven assists. “Cris is the heartbeat of our team,” Eagles’ coach Drew Kornish said. “He was shifted around all season and asked to do so many different things and all at a very high level. We look forward to having him in the program next year as a senior.” Ganser led the Eagles with 15 goals and also topped the team with nine assists. “Lincoln was our team’s leading scorer this season,” Kornish said. “We look forward to him continuing to develop into a playmaker over the next two years as he was only a sophomore.” And Alcantar Ramirez was a key piece on a defense that posted five shutouts. In addition, he added two goals and two assists. “This was Lupe’s first season with significant varsity minutes,” Kornish said. “He was crucial in linking our defense with our attack all season.
