Sauk Prairie hockey team wins a pair

Sauk Prairie’s co-op hockey team — which also includes players from Mount Horeb, Wisconsin Heights, Barneveld and River Valley — won a pair of games last week. The Eagles traveled to Beaver Dam and posted a 4-2 win on Dec. 3. And Sauk Prairie blanked visiting Baraboo/Portage, 5-0, on Dec. 6. The Eagles are now 2-3 on the young season. Landon Froese had two goals against Beaver Dam, while Brock Hill and Connor Grant also added goals. Hill also had two assists, while Lucas Rehlinger, Quinn Payne, Gunnar Nachreiner and Greyden Schomber all had assists. Corbin Domka had 20 saves and picked up the win in goal. In the Eagles’ win over Baraboo/Portage, Domka was excellent in goal, finishing with 20 saves to earn the shutout win. Froese and Ryan Rickard both had two goals to lead Sauk Prairie’s offense, while Carl Weiss also had a goal. The Eagles got assists from Hill, Grant, Froese, Schomber and Josh Mast. • On deck: Sauk Prairie hosted McFarland Tuesday, then faces South Central on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Hartmeyer Ice Arena in Madison.
