Sauk/Heights swimmers second at Badger Relays
The Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights boys swimming team finished in second place at the Badger Small Conference Relays on Dec. 10.
McFarland won the team title with 138 points, while the Eagles were second with 88 points. Edgewood (72), Stoughton (68), Baraboo (58) and Mount Horeb rounded out the field.
Sauk Prairie’s Ethan Goodman, Reid Rinabarger, Cy Welch and Adam Kaukl teamed up to win the 100-yard freestyle relay. The quartet of Goodman, Welch, Rinabarger and Caleb Gregg won the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Eagles foursome of Levi Shadewald, Welch, Brayden Birkett and Evan Schultze was second in the 800-yard freestyle relay. Shadewald, Rinabarger and Birkett combined to take second in the 300-yard backstroke, while Gregg, Jacob Klein and Welch were second in the 300-yard breaststroke.
Rinabarger, Jacob Klein, Shadewald and Goodman were third in the 200-yard medley relay. The foursome of Goodman, Shadewald, Kaukl and Gregg were also third in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Birkett, Connor McQueen, Joseph Burton and Wilson Ederer were fourth in the 400-yard medley relay.
Kaukl, Klein, McQueen and Strahinja Jovancic were also fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
