Four wrestlers advance to sectionals

One first place finisher. And four wrestlers advancing to sectionals. It was a respectable Saturday for the Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights boys wrestling team, as they finished in sixth place at the eight-team WIAA Division 1 Verona Regional. The Eagles will now send four wrestlers to the Waunakee Sectional, which will be held Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. The top four finishers in each weight class advanced through regionals, and the Eagles will be well-represented at sectionals. Sauk/Heights’ Max Schroeder finished first at 106 pounds. The Eagles also got a second place finish from Lane Albers (190), a third place showing from Evan Dischler (113) and a fourth place finish from Logan McIntyre (215). Reedsburg won the eight-team regional with 228.0 points, while Waunakee (204.5), Middleton (187.0), Verona (139.5) and Mount Horeb/Barneveld (129.5) rounded out the top five.
