Marilyn A. Halverson, age 83, of Lone Rock passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Greenway Manor in Spring Green. She was born on January 10, 1943 in Lone Rock, the daughter of Willard and Ethel (Jones) Gundlach. Marilyn was married October 21, 1961 to Terry Halverson. Marilyn worked at Roundys, and other places as well, but is best remembered as the owner of the Owl’s Nest Bar in Lone Rock during the 70’s and 80’s. She was well known for her fierce, yet lighthearted storytelling of her experiences with friends and family that took place in her life. If you’re reading this, you most likely were part of one of those stories. Mom never met a stranger. Many people were touched by her presence. Survivors include five children, Terry Halverson of Madison, John (Wendy) Halverson of Lone Rock, Tammy Shoaf of Marshall, IN, Dennis Halverson of Venice, FL, Tom (Dawn) Halverson of Lone Rock. 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, siblings, Tootie (Don) Pulvermacher and Jack (Kenda) Gundlach, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Terry, grandson Dakota Halverson, brother, Donnie Gundlach, sister, Maxine Pulvermacher. A memorial service will be held at Richardson-Stafford Funeral home at a later date in the summer.
