Pets of the Week: Remi and Star

The Sauk County Humane Society has unveiled its featured pets, with comments from shelter staff. They are as follows.

Remi is a 3-year-old American Staffordshire terrier mix with a big heart and plenty of personality. She came to SCHS as a stray, but it’s clear she was loved and cared for before arriving. Remi is smart and already knows come, sit, down, drop it, and even how to give a handshake! She loves playing fetch, wrestling with her toys, spending time outside, and showing off her zoomies. She also walks nicely on a leash and was previously house-trained. At 70 pounds, Remi is a sturdy girl with lots of love to give, including plenty of kisses. She does well with children and active seniors but must be the only pet in her new home. Remi is ready to find someone to love all to herself! She is up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed prior to adoption.

Star is a little over a year old, and this beautiful black cat came to the shelter as a stray. She’s an outgoing, affectionate girl who greets you right at the front of her kennel, usually with a quiet little meow to make sure you notice her. Star absolutely loves her human time and is happiest curled up in a lap getting pets or hanging close by while she works on convincing you that she definitely needs another treat. She has plenty of young-cat energy and enjoys checking out her surroundings, but people are easily her favorite source of entertainment. Star is still getting used to being picked up and carried, but she’s very comfortable seeking out affection on her own terms. Sweet, social, curious, and full of personality, Star would love a home where she gets plenty of attention and lap time. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.
