Eagles fall to Mount Horeb, part 2

Sauk Prairie’s boys basketball team put together its first three-game winning streak of the season over the holidays. The Eagles rolled past host Dodgeville, 63-52, on Dec. 17 and won at Janesville Parker, 67-53, on Dec. 28. Sauk Prairie then cruised past Portage, 77-37, on Jan. 3. The Eagles improved to 6-4 overall and 2-1 in the Badger Small Conference. Here’s a recap of Sauk Prairie’s recent games: • Sauk Prairie 63, Dodgeville 52 — The Eagles rolled past the Dodgers on Dec. 17. Otis Andres led Sauk Prairie with 14 points, while Nick Keyser and Boden Breunig both added 12. Keyser also had six rebounds and five assists, while Braden Schaaf had six points, five assists and four rebounds. • Sauk Prairie 67, Janesville Parker 53 — Boden Breunig had 17 points and four rebounds to power the Eagles past the Vikings on Dec. 28. Nick Keyser added 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while Braden Schaaf had 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. • Sauk Prairie 77, Portage 37 — Nick Keyser had 18 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists to lead the Eagles past the Warriors last Friday.  Jake Buckles added 12 points, while Boden Breunig had eight points and both Trent Backeberg and Cayden Hermsdorf had seven points. • On deck: Sauk Prairie hosted Monroe Tuesday, then hosts Baraboo Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
