Eagles’ swimmers roll

Sauk Prairie’s girls swimming and diving team defeated Portage/Poynette, 97-56, in its final Badger Small Conference dual meet of the season. The Eagles ended their dual meet season with an overall record of 3-6 and a Badger Small Conference record of 3-5.  Sauk Prairie’s Claire Hartman broke a school record in the 6-dive event with a score of 190.60.  That bettered the school record (190.55) that she already owned. Sauk Prairie’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Alyssa Himebauch, Natalie Klein, Ava Flanagan and Kaylee Oleson finished first, while the Eagles’ quartet of Natalie Ballweg, Addisyn Ranzenberger, Joslyn Schultz and Amelia Kitelinger was third. Sauk Prairie’s 400-yard freestyle relay team of Oleson, Klein, Flanagan and Alyssa Himebauch was first, and the foursome of Gracia Bare, Kate Himebauch, Claire Handschke and Ava Handschke was second. And in the 200-yard medley relay, Ballweg, Ranzenberger, Ava Handschke and Kate Himbauch teamed up to finish second, while the quartet of Bare, Claire Handschke, Schultz and Kitelinger was third. Klein, Claire Handschke and Kitelinger captured the top three spots in the 100-yard butterfly.  Alyssa Himebauch and Flanagan went 1-2 in the 50-yard freestyle. Oleson won the 100-yard freestyle and Flanagan was second. Klein won the 200-yard freestyle and Ava Handschke was third.  Ava Handschke was second in the 500-yard freestyle and Bare was third. Oleson was second in the 100-yard backstroke and Kate Himebauch was third, and Alyssa Himebauch was third in the 100-yard breaststroke. Sauk Prairie will now host the Badger Small Conference Championships on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sauk Prairie High School’s Aquatic Center.
