Heights XC teams fare well at Platteville

The Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld boys cross country team finished third at the Platteville Invite among Small schools last Saturday. St. Ambrose Academy won the 11-team event with 51 points, while Iowa-Grant (78), Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld (118), Albany (118) and Prairie du Chien (125) rounded out the top five. The Vanguards Kirk Caminiti was third individually, finishing the 5,000-meter course in 17 minutes, 1.70 seconds. Travis Dreikosen was 16th (18:25.0), Noah Doescher was 24th (19:03.40), Trevor Owens was 38th (20:06.10) and Andrew Murray was 41st (20:11.30). The Vanguards’ girls didn’t field enough runners for an entire team, but did have some solid individual performances. Natalie Wilson was 38th individually (25:39.21), Brisa Nicholes was 42nd (26:00.80), Eliza Gordon was 45th (26:13.70), and Jalen Kittleson was 59th (29:11.30).
