Sauk Prairie’s girls soccer team had a showdown with DeForest Tuesday night. And the Eagles wento int that game with a full head of steam. Sauk Prairie pushed its winning streak to four games last week with victories over Reedsburg, Portage/Poynette and Tomah. Sauk Prairie is now 8-2 overall and leads the Badger Small Conference with a 4-0 record. Here’s a recap of the Eagles’ week: • Sauk Prairie 3, Reedsburg 0 — McKayla Paukner had a pair of goals and an assist to power the Eagles past the Beavers on April 29. Paukner scored in the 20th minute, then struck again in the 39th minute on an assist by Alexis Atkinson to make it 2-0. Ellery Apel then completed the scoring with a goal in the 60th minute on an assist from Paukner. “Reedsburg is a side that always plays us very tough,” Sauk Prairie coach Drew Kornish said. “This night was no exception as Reedsburg was able to stay under the ball and work really hard the whole game. It was a great conference win for our side to keep us on track and on top of the Badger Small.” • Sauk Prairie 10, Portage 0 — McKayla Paukner led the way with four goals as the Eagles rolled past the Warriors on April 30. Erelyn Apel had two goals and three assists, while Marin Alisch had two goals and an assist. Audrey Brickl added a goal and an assist, while McKayla Paukner had a goal and Kenzi Kleist added two assists. • Sauk Prairie 10, Tomah 0 — McKayla Paukner and Leah Allen both scored three goals as the Eagles rolled to a win on May 4. Alexis Atkinson added two goals, while Audrey Brickl and Marin Alisch had goals, as well. • On deck: The Eagles traveled to Baraboo for a Badger Small Conference showdown Tuesday. The Thunderbirds entered the game 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the Badger Small. Sauk Prairie is then at DeForest Thursday at 7 p.m.  “This next week is a big one in which we will face Baraboo and a really good DeForest side that has big implications for the postseason,” Kornish said.
