Eagles’ boys lacrosse team splits four games

Sauk Prairie’s boys lacrosse team split four games last week. Here’s a recap of the Eagles’ week: • Oregon 8, Sauk Prairie 3 — Sophomore attackers Zander Kellogg and Drew Strathman both had one goal and one assist in the Eagles’ loss on April 22. Kaleb Chetwood, another sophomore attacker, added a goal for Sauk Prairie. “This was a game played primarily on the defensive half of the field, which made the performance by our defense even more impressive,” Eagles coach Zach Lare said. “It was great seeing all of our starting attackmen put goals up on the board.” • Middleton 15, Sauk Prairie 3 — Zander Kellogg, A.J. Klemm and Joshua Mast all had goals in the Eagles’ loss on April 25. “Middleton showed why they are a top team in the state,” Lare said. “For our young squad, it was a learning experience getting to go against a very high powered offense.” • Sauk Prairie 6, La Crosse 3 — The Eagles prevailed at the Badger Spring Invite on April 27. Zander Kellogg led the Eagles with three goals, while Will Judge had two goals and Isaiah Torres added a goal. “The offense took some time getting going,” Lare said. “But when the limited opportunities were presented to them, they took them.” • Sauk Prairie 5, Oconomowoc 4 — Zander Kellogg had two goals to power the Eagles at the Badger Spring Invite on April 27. Isaiah Torres, Karsyn Banta and Steve Romaker all added goals for the Eagles. Sauk Prairie raced to a 4-0 lead, then held off a late rally by the Raccoons. “The Badger invite was a great day for our boys, going 2-0 on the day,” Lare said. “We had a really strong offensive performance from Zander Kellogg, with five goals on the day. “Defensively, Lucas Rehlinger was impressive in net with a 3.50 goals against average on the day.
