Mack earns trip to state

Sauk Prairie sophomore Quinlyn Mack is headed to the WIAA Division 1 girls state tennis tournament. Mack (13-8) will play Westosha Central sophomore Tristin Jantz in a first round match Thursday at 10:30 a.m. If Mack wins there, she’ll play a second round match Thursday at 4 p.m. Mack was the Eagles’ only player to qualify for state. Sauk Prairie competed at last Thursday’s Waunakee Sectional, which was arguably the toughest sectional in the state, and failed to win a match. Madison West won the sectional with 34 points, while Middleton was second with 33 and Madison Memorial was third at 31. All three teams are ranked in the top-10 in the state. Sauk Prairie didn’t score at sectionals, but Mack’s solid regular season earned her a trip to state.
