Eagles’ boys tennis team notches first win

It took a while.
But Sauk Prairie’s boys tennis team notched their first win of the season on April 17.
The Eagles won three singles matches and two doubles matches and bested Portage, 5-2.

Weston’s baseball team drops three of four

Weston’s baseball team dropped three of four games last week.
But the Silver Eagles picked the right game to win, downing Kickapoo, 8-4, in a Ridge and Valley Conference game on April 17.
Weston is now 4-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

River Valley’s boys golfers finished in seventh place at the eight-team, Division 2 Reedsburg Invitational on April 18.
Prescott shot a 323 and edged Reedsburg (324) for the team title. Mount Horeb (326), Cuba City/Benton (328) and Platteville (354) rounded out the top five.

Softball Blackhawks fall to Platteville and Richland Center

River Valley’s girls softball team did some good things last week, but lost a pair of Southwest Wisconsin Conference games.
The Blackhawks dropped a 5-0 decision to Richland Center on April 15, then fell to Platteville, 2-1, on April 17.

But River Valley’s baseball team broke into the win column last week.
The Blackhawks defeated Wisconsin Heights, 11-2, in a non-conference game on April 15. Richland Center then edged River Valley, 5-4, on April 17.

Reedsburg track teams compete at Badger Challenge

One of the most important early season track and field meets each spring is the Badger Conference Challenge, which took place April 15 in Portage. It’s a chance to see athletes and teams from both the Badger Small and Badger Large.
