Letter: Group plans to disband
The Reedsburg Old Settlers held a board meeting on December 4th, 2021. As a result of this meeting, the motion was made to disband the organization. The Reedsburg Old Settlers organization will officially disband as of January 31st, 2022. Money in the treasury will go to the Reedsburg Public Library, to be used for historical custodial purposes. The monies can be used for publications, historical programs or educational media on the history of Reedsburg. The monies will be dispersed at the discretion of the library.
The items that were given to the Reedsburg Historical Society for safekeeping will become the property of the historical society. The items will be labeled as donated by the Reedsburg Old Settlers Association. These items were previously on display in the Pine Room located in South School and were moved to the Historical Society Museum due to flooding.
All past records related to the Old Settler’s Association and the historical gavel will be kept at the Reedsburg Public Library.
