Letters to the Editor

Dear editor, May 15 through 21 marks National Emergency Medical Services Week, and on behalf of Sauk Prairie Healthcare’s board of directors, medical staff and employees, I would like to recognize and thank our local EMS members who give their time selflessly for the good of our community, friends and loved ones.  As partners in care, we appreciate the expertise, support and caring manner these professionals bring with them on every call. The events of the past two years have made us keenly aware of the sacrifices and risks they take to serve our community. Over the years, countless lives have been saved by their heroic efforts to respond in crisis.  I encourage you to take this opportunity to say thank you to those who serve on our EMS. Please let them know how much you value their dedicated service and that you appreciate knowing they are there when you need them. Shawn Lerch, CEO Sauk Prairie Healthcare Prairie du Sac   Dear editor, As we celebrate EMS week, I would like to thank my fellow volunteer EMT’s and drivers from Spring Green, Plain, Lone Rock and Arena for your tremendous dedication to quality care. I would like to thank you, that especially during this pandemic, you continued to put your health on the line to help others. You accepted the strain of all the additional pandemic related calls on top of the load you were already handling.  I have an ask from the communities. A Card Shower.  Show your love and support. Please take a minute and write a short note to your community EMS provider. Let them know that they are appreciated by saying something as simple as... 1. Thanks for helping my mom. 2.Thanks for being there when I needed you. 2.Thanks for your caring support. 3.Thanks for your comforting touch. 4. Thanks for saving my life.   And I may have a little bigger ask… All of our communities need more help. There is a EMT class coming up this fall in Plain, please join your communities’ team.
