Rodney was born September 15, 1934 on the family farm in Reedsburg, Wisconsin the fifth child and only son of Philip Leo Hannon and Ella Jane (Murphy) Hannon. The farm is a centennial farm that Rodney was proud to call home his entire life. Rod lost his father while in high school and he returned to the family farm to continue the dairy operation while continuing classes in order to graduate from Reedsburg High School in 1952.

Rod eventually rented out the farm and began work as a realtor and sold insurance. He was a long time member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Baraboo. He enjoyed chatting, “working on a deal”, chopping wood and walking at HoChunk Casino. His family will miss the calls they received from “Reedsburg Rod”.
