Sharon Elizabeth Haney Sharon Elizabeth Haney, born on September 21, 1945, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her sisters, June (Dick) Tubb and Deanna Haney; her brother, Jim (Gloria) Haney; brother-in-law, Mark Lefebvre; her daughters, Jamie (Todd) Stone and Sydne Ackley (Chuck Washburn). Sharon was a devoted grandmother to Cody (Baylee), Katie (Cody), Jacob, J.W., Riley, Meira, and honorary grandson Charles. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Ruby, Ryker, Maxwell, Atreus, Jade, and Hendrix. Sharon leaves behind many nieces and nephews who held her dear. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Dexter Haney; her nephew, Craig Tubb; her sister, Marian Lefebvre; cherished family friends, John and Sandra Brockway; and her best friend, Penny Clark. Sharon’s life began on the Haney family farm, homesteaded by her great-grandfather in 1844, and she passed away in the converted Haney Dairy farmhouse, where so many generations had lived. Her connection to her family’s history was a guiding force in her life. Sharon often spoke of being laid to rest in Button Cemetery, alongside her parents and other family members, within sight of the hills where she played as a child. After college, Sharon moved to the California Bay area, where she became the mother of her two beloved daughters, Jamie and Sydne. Those years were filled with memories and experiences that shaped the remarkable woman she became. Her work ethic was unmatched, whether she was waitressing in California, working as the head chef at UW-Richland Center, or working as a bookkeeper for John Brockway, eventually helping to establish the partnership that became Brockway and Collins. In 1993, Sharon achieved a significant milestone in her career by becoming an enrolled agent, a title she held with great pride. Sharon’s professional life was marked by her many years as a tax preparer for roadies of famous musical artists. Fondly known as “Aunt Sharon,” she was more than just an accountant to her clients—she was a caretaker and confidante. She made sure to know their schedules and took pride in looking after her crew, often sharing breakfast with them when they came by to drop off their taxes. Many considered her their favorite accountant, a testament to the deep bonds she formed with those she served. Sharon was widely respected for her professionalism and deeply loved by her close friends and family. As a mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Sharon was always there for her family. She loved playing games, working on puzzles, helping with care, and watching Hallmark movies with her sister Deanna. Her dedication to her loved ones was unwavering, and she found joy in the simple, everyday moments shared with those she held dear. Sharon will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, care, and dedication will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace, reunited with those who went before her, in the place she loved most. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at a later date. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
