Ronald C. Howard

Black Earth--Ronald C. Howard, age 78, of Black Earth, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Sauk Prairie Hospital. He was born on December 14, 1946, in Madison, Wis., the son of Clinton and Bernetta (Higgins) Howard.
Ron graduated from Wisconsin Heights High School with the class of 1965. Ron enjoyed sports, and during high school he played football, basketball, baseball and competed in track. He married Suzanne “Suzie” (Barsness) Howard on August 17, 1968, at Vermont Lutheran Church. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country working in the field of Intelligence. Ron was an electrician throughout his career, working for the Village of Black Earth, Wick Homes, Everything Electric and retired from Spring Industries in 2012.
Ron enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and trap shooting. He took many hunting trips to South Dakota and was always looking forward to the next one. He had dogs in his life, who were good companions as well as good hunting dogs. Ron also enjoyed watching his son and grandsons play all their various sports throughout the years. He was a huge fan of the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers.
Ron is survived by his wife, Suzanne “Suzie;” son, Rodney (Jodi) Howard; grandchildren, Mitchell Howard, Carter (fiancée, Morgan Parks) Howard and Riley (Emily Korb) Howard; sisters, Jeanne (Mark Beaster) Howard, Janice (Kenneth) Hillebrand, Rebecca (Mark) Schoenemann and Yvonne (Robert) Sindermann; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life may be held at a later date.
