Jean Marie (Santas) Stittleburg

Jean Marie (Santas) Stittleburg, 84, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025 at the Reedsburg Medical Center, holding hands with her best friend, her husband, Gordon.

Jeanie was born May 26, 1940 at her home near Hillsboro, Wl and married her sweetheart on August 6, 1960 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.

She attended Richland Center College, and graduated with a teaching degree. She taught at Lime Ridge until she gave birth to her first son, Mark. She had her second son, Todd, two years later, and brought home their daughter, Shannon, six years after that.

Jeanie was very active at church with Ladies Aid, she substitute taught at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wonewoc where they were members, and she was well known for singing in the choir as well. She was always baking and cooking, cleaning and working outside on her flowers. Every year at Christmas, the teachers and neighbors, and all of the family looked very forward to her cookies and candies.

She went back to work and worked at Lands’ End, where she worked until she retired. She loved spending time with her new friends and always had stories about visiting with them on her lunch breaks. Gomma never wanted to miss any events for the grandchildren or great grandchildren. She could always be spotted at their football, baseball, basketball and volleyball games.

Jeanie is preceded in death by her parents, Jyles and Phyllis (Schultz) Santas; her brother, Richard Santas; sister-in-law, Barb Santas; her twin brother, John Santas and her little sister, Mary Jane Phillips.

She is survived by her husband Gordon; her older brother, Donovan Santas: her sisters-in-law, Gladys & Sandra Santas; as well as her three children: Mark (Shari), Todd (Kathy), and Shannon; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Brogan (Alexa), Liv, Leo, and Lux; Kalan (Jordan), Elliotte; Taryn (Derek), Zayden, Zirah, Zinley; Brooke (John), Lydia, Evelyn, Vivian; Morgan (Elvis); Remington (Shauna); Grant (Rena), Sutton; Rachelle (Channing), Darci, Elara; and Alicia (Abdullah).

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2025 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wonewoc, with Rev. Jacob Limpert officiating. Lunch will follow in the basement.

A time of Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the Picha Funeral Home in Wonewoc.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Paul’s Lutheran School.
