Roseann Rodwell

Roseann Rodwell, age 87, of Baraboo, WI, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Oak Park Place in Baraboo.

The Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at Oak Park Place, Big Top Room with Deacon Tom and Chaplain Bryce co-celebrating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Lake Delton Village Cemetery.

Roseann was born December 23, 1937, in Stevens Point, WI, the daughter of Lawrence and Ann (Lavenz) Reinertson. She married Daniel Rodwell on November 21, 1959, in Burlington, WI. Roseann worked as a Registered Nurse from 1958 until her retirement in 1997. She worked in Waupun, Watertown, Baraboo, Burlington and Walworth County and served as an EMT for East Troy. She loved cooking, baking, sewing and canning.

Roseann is survived by her daughter, Donna (Dave Van Grinsven), Appleton, WI; son, Jim (Jennifer) Rodwell, Lyndon Station, WI; son-in-law, Curtis Meier, Rochester, MN; son, Mark (Beth) Rodwell, Cottage Grove, WI; son, Joe (Lorrie) Rodwell, Troy Center, WI. Eight grandchildren: Rose (Juan Parra) Van Grinsven, Bogota, Colombia; Joan (Rob) Doss, Waukee, IA; Danielle (Jesse) Kangas, Westfield, WI; Rebecca (Wesley) Apple, Cedar Hill, TN; Mary (Tareq Alamr) Rodwell, Madison, WI; John Rodwell, Terre Haute, IN; Brittany Meier, Rochester, MN; Megan Meier, Rochester, MN. Six great grandchildren: Parker, Jack and Marlee Kangas, Westfield, WI; Emilio and Daniela Parra Van Grinsven, Bogota, Colombia; Avery Doss, Waukee, IA. Roseann is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel Rodwell, her daughter, Mary Rodwell Meier, and sister, Carolyn Reinertson.

Roseann’s life philosophy could be summed up as Christ’s message to ‘Love thy neighbor.’ She felt her assignment from God was to be a wife, mother, nurse, and friend to many. She and Dan maintained an open door to their home and a place at their table.

Roseann led a lifetime of volunteering to help others. These included grade school tutor, playground monitor, liturgist, lay minister, Red Cross volunteer, St. Vincent de Paul coordinator, prayer and bereavement ministries, food pantry, Meals on Wheels, visits to the homebound, and resident ambassador.

The families wish to thank those people who provided help and care both in Reedsburg and in Baraboo at Oak Park Place and the Bristol Hospice team.

In lieu of flowers, Roseann would have wanted you to give something to your church or favorite charity. Then, go out and enjoy your favorite popsicle.
