District Administrator's Corner

by Loren Glasbrenner,  River Valley School District Administrator There is a group of unsung heroes in our schools that I want to highlight.  The instructional assistants in the River Valley School District are an incredible bunch of human beings.  We employ a team of heroes that are carefully assigned throughout their day to meet the individual needs of students and make that student’s day more successful. These heroes assist with teaching activities, work with small groups of students, assist with supervision, go on field trips, encourage and help students with classroom work and exams, consult with teachers about student problems, help maintain the climate and culture of our schools, assist in creating instructional materials, and sort, correct, cut, copy, toss, label, organize, and mend anything and everything they are asked to do.  In general, they are the extra hands that are required to allow our schools to succeed. And, they do all of this with kindness.  They maintain confidentiality, good judgment, and gain the respect of our staff and students.  Our hat is tipped to the following instructional assistants:  Diane Alt, Nancy Askevold, Heidi Bailey, Pam Brander, Kristen Bristol, Stacy Burkhalter, Debbie Butteris, Carrie Chandler, Lauri Dischler, Kathy Heiser, Shawn Hess, Alicia Johnson, Julie Meixelsperger, Joanne Miller, Amanda Nabbefeld, Tanya Noth, Beth Novak, Oxana Peper, Kellie Roske, Ashley Schwartz, Kristen Strobusch, Stacey Thomas, Sheila Weiss, Sue White, Amy Wille, and Kerri Williams. Not all heroes wear capes … the River Valley School District is thankful for this powerful team.
