Reedsburg meets Baraboo for the 137th time in high school football on Friday


The Old River Jug is up for grabs this Friday night when the Reedsburg Beaver football team hosts the Baraboo Thunderbirds at Reedsburg’s Millennium Field. This will be the 137th meeting between the two schools and, ever since 1983, the winner of the yearly contest held possession of the Old River Jug. (Reedsburg Independent file photo)

The most often played high school football rivalry in the state of Wisconsin adds another chapter this week when the Reedsburg Beavers square off against the Baraboo Thunderbirds for the 137th time in a matchup that dates back all the way back to 1900.
