Despite in-person school closure, Heights has to think about possible referendum

In addition to wrestling with an online model for the fall, the Wisconsin Heights School Board talked about the tenability of putting a referendum question on the fall or spring ballot. The District has been looking at a roughly $30 million facilities upgrade.

School Board approves new schedule for students, teachers

Coronavirus has forced Reedsburg schools to rethink some of their plans for the upcoming year.

With cases continuing—and a recent positive test connected to school registration—officials agreed to make some changes to the calendar during Monday night’s regular school board meeting.

RAHS Student Council organizes retreat

Reedsburg Area High School Student Council will hold its usual retreat this fall.

This year’s event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 28 at the high school.

New and continuing council members in grades nine through 12 are welcome to attend and help plan out activities for the upcoming school year.

Possible coronavirus exposure reported at school registration

A person who attended registration for the Reedsburg School District has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Sauk County Public Health.

The individual, who did not have symptoms at the time, participated in registration on Aug. 11.

Sauk Prairie School District to use hybrid model, with virtual only option

The Sauk Prairie School District will return to classes with a hybrid model this fall. The board approved the model five to one at the end of a marathon three hour meeting Monday night. Parents will still have the option to opt in to virtual only.

Sauk Prairie School District to vote on school model next week

The Sauk Prairie School District board will be voting on the model to be used for the fall at their next meeting. The meeting will be held on Monday, August 10, at 6:30 p.m. There will be a virtual attendance option. Superintendent Jeff Wright wrote the following to parents:

Wisconsin Heights School District to start online only in the fall

The Wisconsin Heights School Board decided on Monday, July 27, to hold school online and virtual until at least November 4. The meeting was well attended by the public--for the COVID-19 era--and the board received email communications from parents both in support and against the measure. Below is the letter parents received on July 28.
