Nature and Society: The upside to aging

My beloved 10-year-old granddaughter looks at my hands and pokes at the blue veins that criss-cross then like rivers. "I love your hands, Gramma," she says. I show her how loose the skin is on the backs of my hands and how I can pinch it up into little hills that only gradually relax back into place.
