It's an odd situation when you have to wait up for your cats. I needed to get to bed because I am fighting one of those nasty cold weather respiratory .invasions, but drama never ceases at holiday time! My cats, accustomed to living quietly with one old woman, freak out when I have company.

This is one of the best seasons for funny moments. There’s just so much that can go just right…or very wrong.

Since this should be a warm and enjoyable time of year, I thought I’d share some of my favorite comedic moments from personal life.

As we close out 2025, I want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the Sauk Prairie community — our businesses, our partners, our volunteers, and every resident who shows up to support this place we all call home. This year was a reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together with purpose and optimism.

In my first year as State Senator, I’ve learned so much about District 14 and the people living within it. While these have been really tumultuous times, they have also revealed so much goodness, and that deserves highlighting at the end of 2025.

Lots of folks are upset with the Trump regime because they have realized that the ACA support for the health care supplementary payments is going to expire and their health care insurance costs are going to get much higher. For many people that may mean they will no longer be able to afford health insurance for their families.

As the old year comes to an end, don’t forget to start planning for the new year – 2026 is right around the corner.
