Geiger Counter: Toxic positivity

American crocodiles are thriving in the shadow of the Turkey Point Nuclear Plant just south of Miami. The species – not to be confused with alligators - almost went extinct due to the apocalyptic damage caused by development and urban sprawl during the 20th Century, but a few survived, crawling into whatever wild holes they could reach.

A View of the Valley Nov. 27, 2025

The Packers are playing the Lions on Thanksgiving Day. What more do you need to know about the upcoming holidays? Ok, I admit there’s a lot more going on. But what a way to start the season off. Letter: Make sure to get all info on Gaza situation

Since the latest Gaza/Israel ceasefire in early October, there has been little news of the ongoing tragedy while 260 more Gazans have been killed, 632 injured. One child is killed every hour for the past 2 years.   In one night, October 29th, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu ordered "immediate powerful strikes" across Gaza, 153 tons of bombs.

Nature and Society, Nov, 20, 2025

There is so much to be thankful for, yet there is also so much sorrow in the world. I live here in a bubble of comfort with enough food for myself, the cats, the chickens and the wild birds, while so much of the world goes hungry.
