Wisconsin Heights Alumni Association challenges classes for donations

The Wisconsin Heights Alumni Association, Inc. is offering a challenge for classes of Wisconsin Heights for donations of funds to be used for scholarships for a graduating senior or seniors of Wisconsin Heights High School. The first scholarship was presented to a member of the graduating class of 2015.

Sauk Prairie Middle School forensics successful at Level I Festival

Sauk Prairie’s Flanagan wins scholarship

Olivia Flanagan, a Sauk Prairie High School student, won financial support for college from the Herb Kohl Foundation. Winners were announced last Monday, and scholarships will be awarded later this spring. Amounts were not released, but local students will receive their awards at a May ceremony in Baraboo.

Wisconsin Heights chooses company for next step in facility improvements

The Wisconsin Heights School Board has chosen Performance Services Inc. as the engineering firm for the next steps of the district’s facility planning process. The decision was voted on during the board’s Feb. 10 meeting, after hearing two presentations from the firms PSI and Bray Architects.

Sauk Prairie Middle School needs asbestos removal for HVAC upgrade

The Sauk Prairie School Board met on January 27. Middle school construction was discussed as asbestos was found while working on the air conditioning upgrade. The removal will take up an extensive amount of funding. The additional funding to finish the air conditioning project is coming from an early closing of a tax increment finance district.

Sauk Prairie School District going to referendum in spring election

On Jan. 20 the Sauk Prairie School Board held a special meeting on the proposed $65 million referendum. Community members came to the meeting and voiced their opinions. Many commented about supporting the athletics and the aquatics facilities.

Sauk Prairie School District congratulates students on Read-A-Thon

Grand Avenue fourth graders were recognized at the Jan 13 Sauk Prairie School Board Meeting for completing a Read-A-Thon prior to winter break. From this Read-A-Thon, they were able to make a contribution to the Sauk Prairie Area Food Pantry.
