Fedderly Chrysler was the highest scoring team this week at 15.50 points in the Monday Night Men’s Golf League at the Reedsburg Country Club. Team members include Charlie Brumer, David Fedderly, Mike Fedderly and Ron Gardner.

Reedsburg Pirates win pair of Sunday League Home Talent Baseball contests

It was the most productive weekend of the season for the Reedsburg Pirates on the baseball diamond as the Pirates celebrated America’s 250th Birthday with two key Sunday League wins in Home Talent League play, both at Nishan Park.

Reedsburg swimmer overcomes major obstacles to return to national level status


Reedsburg swimmer Kiera Singletary will swim for Team Wisconsin in a 14-state meet for elite swimmers in Minneapolis in August. Caz Reds come up short vs. Mazo, Dells in Home Talent Baseball

Caz had two different types of games over the weekend in Sunday League Home Talent Baseball. The Reds had a rough outing on Saturday at Mazomanie but played much better Sunday on the home turf but still came up short vs. Wisconsin Dells.

Reedsburg Pirates fall to Mazomanie in Sunday League Home Talent Baseball

The Reedsburg Pirates Home Talent Baseball team took the field for three games in three days this past weekend with a mixed bag in terms of results. Reedsburg lost the only league game out of the three contests, Sunday at Mazomanie, while splitting two non-league games that went completely different directions.

Van Zile is new member of UW-Whitewater Athletics Hall of Fame


RAHS alum Travis Van Zile will be inducted into the UW-Whitewater Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct. 24. During his career from 2000-2003, Van Zile helped lead UW-Whitewater Baseball to WIAC championships in 2000, 2001, and 2003, as well as the conference tournament title in 2003. He also contributed to three NCAA Tournament appearances during his career. At the conclusion of his illustrious collegiate career, Van Zile was just the third Warhawk in program history to earn First Team All-WIAC honors all four seasons. He holds the program record for triples in a game with two and ranks among the school's all-time leaders in stolen bases (66) and triples (10). His eight triples in 2003 remain one of the top single-season totals in both school and conference history. Following his stellar collegiate career, Van Zile was selected in the 26th round of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Reedsburg’s Brian Pottinger to be inducted into WFCA Hall of Fame in April 2027


Former Reedsburg Beaver Football Head Coach Brian Pottinger, seen here getting an ice bath from players after the 2009 D-3 State Championship game, will be inducted into the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame on April 10, 2027. Pottinger led the Beavers to their only state football title in school history in 2009. Jacey Maxwell earns All-District recognition on softball field


Junior Jacey Maxwell was named to the All-District 3 Team from Ithaca/Weston by the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association as announced last week. Maxwell was an All-Conference first team choice in the Ridge and Valley and was named as the Conference Pitcher of the Year as well. (Independent Star News file photo)

Junior Jacey Maxwell from the Ithaca/Weston co-op softball program earned another honor last week even though the I/W 2026 schedule ended a few weeks ago. Maxwell was named to the All-District Three team for Divisions four and five as announced by the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association.

The Cazenovia Reds had a chance to go 2-0 this past week in Home Talent Baseball but the Reds fell in a pair of close games at Arena and Sauk-Prairie in league action.
