The Weston Silver Eagles girls basketball squad found the sledding tough to open last week, facing a quality opponent on the home floor as Weston suffered a setback vs. Westby.

Winter sports teams at the high school level figured to have schedule alterations this season as the battle with COVID-19 continues as student-athletes and coaches deal with the coronavirus and quarantines despite following strict health and safety protocols.

Weston is still looking for that elusive initial victory of the high school boys basketball season but the Silver Eagles showed well at times last week in a conference setback against Kickapoo.

Make it 11 wins in a row now for the RWD boys high school hockey co-op over their rivals from Baraboo after the Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells/Mauston squad blanked Baraboo/Portage, 4-0, at RACA in Reedsburg on Thursday night.

The Reedsburg Beaver boys basketball team put themselves in position to earn a win last week in a tightly contested game at RAHS against Wisconsin Dells before falling short in the end with Reedsburg then coming up short three nights later at Fort Atkinson.

After several weeks of pre-season work, the Reedsburg Beaver gymnasts had the first competition of the season Friday night, welcoming Baraboo and Viroqua to RAHS for a double dual.

The Ithaca/Weston high school wrestling co-op scored the maximum 84 points in a dual meet victory at Kickapoo/LaFarge on Friday night as I/W improves to 2-0 for the dual meet season which includes a win over North Crawford/Seneca.
