Looking back at this school year, I wonder how it could have been different. As a former educator, including at Reedsburg Area High School, having a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, I understand the rigors of education, curriculum, and the challenge of communication.

State Senator Howard Marklein is the co-chair of Wisconsin’s budget committee. Before he was elected to the legislature, he spent his professional career as a certified public accountant. I am glad that we have a CPA watching over the state’s checkbook.

On behalf of our families, we would like to send our sincerest gratitude and thanks to the Reedsburg Area Fire Department, as well as the other area responding fire departments that assisted with our house fire on February 10th.

The Washington Times reported March 1 that the Department of Homeland Security released hundreds of illegal aliens caught at our southern border into Texas without any quarantine or COVID tests.

Why isn't deliberately exposing our citizens to possible infection being considered an impeachable offense?

Right now, local governments are required to publish what happens during their meetings, but what happens if that goes away?

The insecurities of old age are creating a disturbing landscape for me in the midnight hours. I awaken suddenly with what feels like a rush of adrenaline. And then the parade begins: Did I mail in the insurance payment? I forgot to write to our niece on her birthday! Where did I put our health care powers of attorney?

“What do we mean by happiness?” Many adults think that money will make them happy; there’s never enough. Others might think that drugs and alcohol make them happy; the “high” soon wears off.

Finding happiness in the things and people of this world is an exercise in frustration.
