Sauk County Public Health would like to formally thank the Ho-Chunk Nation Department of Health for opening up their community COVID-19 vaccination events on March 24th and 31st to all members of our community and administering over 2,200 doses. Your efforts to protect the health of our community are greatly appreciated!

Letter: Epistle was fitting for April 1 edition

“The point of my original letter (March 18) had nothing to do with empathy,” wrote Dave Gorak in the April Fool’s Day issue of the Reedsburg Independent. He is certainly correct about that. His use of the term “Chinese virus” made not only his lack of empathy, but also his blatant racism, abundantly clear.

Poll shows newspaper readers prefer keeping daylight saving time

A poll of newspaper consumers shows most prefer staying at daylight saving time.

Out of 797 respondents, 80 percent said they’d prefer to quit with the spring forward, fall back model. The rest said they didn’t mind the current setup.
