Our Faithful Companions Many of us have seen ads for lost pets.  Some are short and simple while others go into great detail.    You may see rewards offered or compelling phrases such as “heartbroken child” or “needs medicine”, to convey the sense of loss and the hope of being reunited with the lost animal.

We all recognize the stress of farming recently. You will see in the news so many different articles on stress, depression, suicidal thoughts with no energy to work for the farming community. According to John Shutske, a professor and UW-Madison Extension agricultural safety and health specialist.

Our daughter wanted bunk beds for ages. She loved the idea of having a guest bed in her room, and she was intrigued by the fact that it’s essentially a fort frame that’s ready to turn into a ship or a castle at any moment. There is also an undeniable primal safety to sleeping six feet off the ground.

Thank you to the Sauk Prairie community for your support at the Friends of Sauk Prairie Healthcare Blood Drive, which was held at the Graceway Church in Prairie du Sac on Dec 16.  Thanks, too, to the awesome volunteers who donated their time!  Your blood donations have made it possible to potentially save 84 lives.  Merry Christmas to all!  

Thanks to Joe Block for his editorial in the Thursday, Dec. 12 issue of the Star News, explaining the history of the terrible decision of Mazo Village to underfund NWDSS. We have elections coming up. Knowing that the Town of Black Earth has never chipped in for their Seniors is awful. Now seeing Mazo Village turn rotten is shocking.

  Is Holiday  Giving A Fraud?   It’s become fashionable these days to chastise people for their charity. The critiques, which have accusatory titles and acerbic adjectives galore, spread like wildfire on social media. They allege that people who do charitable work are doing it wrong, or doing for the wrong reasons.
